Transformers Animated Episode 17 Official Discussion

Ok this was a really good episode, but does anyone remember the episode in Simpsons where they were watching Knightboat:

Michael: Oh, no! They're headed for land.
[The poachers ride onto the beach, jump on motorcycles, and speed away].
Michael: We'll never catch them now.
Knight Boat: Incorrect--look! A canal.
Homer: Go, Knight Boat, go!
Bart: Oh, every week there's a canal.
Lisa: Or an inlet.
Bart: Or a fjord.
Homer: Quiet! I will not hear another word against the boat.

The key that sari carries fits into everything and resolves all of there (autobots) problems. I am getting sick of the key. Jazz was fantastic and Magnus had the whole Robert stack voice going for him which was excellent. Sentinel prime I think has a way bigger role to come especially if black arachnia is still around.

Finally the space bridge has made its way back into the show lets go Shockwave, hopefully he makes a return and waiting on cybertron with a lot more decepticons!

I started watching this half way through, but the first thing I saw was Sentinel in car mode and I swore he was G1 Gears!
I must've missed an episode or two cause I am totally lost.
Who is this Megatron guy?

The episode's whole purpose was to introduce the Elite Guard, so I expect they'll be in the fray for a little while. The best is yet to come methinks, with the Decepticons building the spacebridge. That should open many possibilities. I like the fact that although the Decepticons are much stronger than most of the Autobots, they still have a long ways to go before they could beat the Elite Guard and take Cybertron.

Sentinel needs to get the stick out of his reactor linkage and get on with it.

lets see where do i start?

-Ultramagnus is pretty much Thor.
-"prime" is now a rank, not a title. But how does Optimus hold the rank of prime if he is a malfunction?
-Sari could be a robot after all.
-Salmac is working for megatron out of "fear".
-autobots don't like "organics".
-and autobots don't have the human support.
-and they are all collecting shards of the all spark. (Inuyasha anime rip off)

the plot is going into an area that i don't like. It could be just me, but i don't want to watch shows that makes me feel like i'm 5 years old.

The only thing i like about this episode is JAZZ. He is the definition of "cool".

I agree with the majority of fellow board members here; Jazz, made this episode fun to watch. This ep. also gets points for assertive Optimus. That scene between him and Sentinel in the factory was great.
Unfortunately, almost everything else is horrid. I hated how the Dinobots were wasted in yet another useless cameo. I'm not a fan of the notion of an Autobot elite guard consisting of only three Autobots. Having the plot evolving into something similar to Inuyasha is something I'm dreading, so I'm in complete agreement with chisau on that point. Ultra Magnus, is apparently the son of Odin,...seriously wtf? The Sari, semi reveal is somewhat intriguing, but also not completely unexpected. Sentinel, from the first episode, always came off as a jerk, but I found his character to be more racist in tone than xenophobic. I wish he was written better.
On the art side, I found the elite guard designs to be half assed efforts. Ultra Magnus looks like a really good cosplay outfit. Jazz, with his jogging outfit looks like he's training for some athletic event. Sentinel needs a pink tutu to complete his ballerina look.
This series has been a let down for me so far, but I still haven't given up hope yet. There's till plenty of potential to be tapped in to.

Lets go through this one by one...

1) Besides the thunder hammer what makes him Thor?
2) Prime was always a rank except before in G1 it co notated Autobot commander, here its just not as high a rank
3) Well you're right about this but no one can be wrong about everything...
4) For the second week in a row its Sumdac
5) Autobots are scepticle about organics due to past experiences with them just like you would be in their position
6) From what we saw some don't support them but I'm sure not everyone liked them to begin with either...point is I'm sure there's still some fans and Fanzone never really liked them to begin with...he hates robots
7) We don't know if they're going to go around collecting shards yet and if they do I bet it will taken them less time to collect them all then that boring drag on of a show ever did...also if we're going to go on who ripped off who Inuyasha ripped off Dragon ball in the collecting aspect but they were totally original with that "my mommy is human but daddy was a dog" thing....something to be proud of there..
