When you realize you're about to make a mistake...

As some of you guys and gals might have noticed, I've been downsizing my Transformers collection a lot in the past few weeks.

Tonight, I was about to list Air Attack Optimus Primal. Halfway through preparing the listing, I stopped and remembered how cool the toy was with the size and all the cool sounds and features. So I went downstairs to pick it up in my big FOR SALE box and started playing a bit with it. Just in case you know.

Guess what? I'm keeping it. Save for a few molds, I've never been a fan of the Beast Wars stuff (okay, it's labeled as RID, but we all know it's really BM), but this one is a keeper. So back on the shelf you go big fella!

Have you ever done something like this? Or worse, went too far and sold/traded a figure you ended up regretting shortly after?

Thinking about it, I think I also regret selling my Victory Leo/Star Saber set...

How do you guys do it, my room is so crowd, I'm lucky my bro is off to college, I'm occuping some of his shelf and closet space, but I just don't have the guts to sell anything. I even built up my bed frame to make storage below it.
I know I might have some pieces I can part with but I just can't do it.

I had over 400 figures at some point (Transformers and other transforming toys), I think I have about 175 figures left right now, probably less.

What about your G1 Road Caesar?

I won't miss my Beast Machines figures...

Sort of contemplating to sell my Beast Wars stuff, but that "What if" regret might comes across my mind too.

The things I do miss are the old toys I lost as a kid, I could never figure out where they went, although I'm guessing my parents chucked them. Costs me a fair amount of money to buy them back on forums or EBay. (Recently trying to buy back Superhuman Samurai robots).

Road Caesar? Not really... It was rare, but as a combiner, it was so-so. A Liokaiser would have been better imo. I used the money to buy better Soul of Chogokin figures.

Selling off my G1's as we speak... thinking about keeping Fire Guts God Ginrai, Nucleon Quest Convoy, and God Ginrai reissue. I have a feeling I will let them go anyways.

I regret selling my MISB Alt collection, I had no choice needed to help out my family in Winnipeg

Re: When you realize you're about to make a mistake...

I collected TMNT toys and comics from the original movie and cartoon line. I even got into the old school comics at one point.

I ended up selling all the TMNT toys at a garage sale and I think my brother sold all the comics along the way too.

Now I kind of wish I still had all the TMNT toys...they were my pride and joy and I sold them without hesitation...

"SHORT TERM GAIN FOR LONG TERM PAIN" is sooooooo not worth it. Never, ever sell anything you might regret and need to pay more for later.

I sold 3/4 of my G1 collection back in high school for pretty much nothing. Now I am paying for it. Quite literally.

Re: When you realize you're about to make a mistake...

Every time I think if I ever might sell my collection I can't imagine doing it. Everytime I look at my Tfs I can't think of any of them I might want to part with, but who knows that could change in ten or twenty years though I doubt that.

For me I regret not looking after my older toys better when I was a kid so that they could be in better shape or not lost. Right now I'm missing stuff that would of helped me have a complete Devastator set and Wheeljack.

I can't sell anything. I would have to be almost living on the street before I sold anything. I just feel if I need money there are a ton of ways to make it. And no matter how little space I have I have always managed to find more space.
