I think a lot of poster's on this thread might be interested.
I've finally started getting into CW and went around considering my options. I briefly considered Automaton, but then the prospect of USD and tax on top of that, well, mind as well go to a US site. I'm going to give these guys a shot and keep it

I agree, I was a huge Automation customer, but started going to other places when he switched to the US dollar.

I hate to say it, but the Canadian guys really need to stay Canadian with the money or at least send the invoices out in Canadian.

I understand why they want to do business in US dollars, but I don't feel right buying in Canada and paying in a currency I have to pay to use.

Re: Automaton and other Canadian stores and US Dollars

This morning the Bank of Canada lowered it's rate to 0.5, and as a result the canadian dollar lost a cent to it's american counterpart. Things are going to get harder and harder for us.

They do offer free shipping. On orders above 49$ So yeah, just buy multiple items at once and you still get free shipping. Problem is the cut off amount, they raised it from 25 (Amazon pricing) to 49 meaning that your orders now have to be almost 50$ before you get that perk.

I know, but they are a multi-billion dollar company, trust me, they can afford free shipping whether I spend 10 bucks or 1000 bucks

i dont think it boils down to affording it, Its deciding whether to take a loss for the customers benefit when they dont feel the need to. spending 10 to ship a 20 dollar item to you isnt good business. so i can understand a threshold before shipping it out at the expense of the business

Bingo......They aren't A Multi Billion dollar business for no reason. They know their margins on a small item can't hold free shipping.
