No more twist ties..
I notice the ROTF Scout 2packs are held in place with a thin heavy thread instead of the metal coated twist tie. The newest wave of legends used twist ties and so does legends Devastator.
At first I thought these things were annoying, but soon I began to use them for all sorts of things. Almost as good as zip ties. Now I'm worried of running out.
I have seen some japanese stuff packaged with a plastic cover and tape, with no ties at all.
What do you guys think are they handy or useless?

Re: No more twist ties..
there both usefull but also annoying as for years hasbro has tended to get carried away with them.
But i recall reading somewhere that hasbro has opted to phase out thier use as a ecological measure (ie spin on cost cutting)

Re: No more twist ties..
I know they're a useful waste material, but I'm way happier to see a sustainable material used for this instead. I mean, the vast majority are going to end up thrown out, might as well make something biodegradable and made from renewable resources.

Re: No more twist ties..
I hate twist ties, but I also hate the little elastics they the have stated using as they are harder to cut off...

Re: No more twist ties..
I normally hate the twist ties, but I've ended up with so many of them that they're useful for tying up computer/TV cables and the like. And it helps on my end, when I have 5 computers and 11 gaming consoles hooked up around my house.

Ditto! why can't they just use more form-fitting plastic inserts that are like suctioned to the toy or something?

Uaaaargh.
Energon Unicron was a freakin NIGHTMATE!!! All those twist ties....
This is why I like Japanese packaging...rarely do you have to deal with twist ties, just open, unseal the tape, remove the plastic and BOOM! You enjoy your new toy.

Re: No more twist ties..
i find them extremely useful for hanging parts off of a coat hanger for painting.as a bonus, after you're done spraying, you can choose to be enviromentally friendly and reuse/respray with them again,or just huck them out as they came free anyways

Re: No more twist ties..
You can thank thieves for them, if they just bought things instead of pulling them out of the box we wouldn't be here today

Re: No more twist ties..
And wire of the same gauge as twist ties is pretty cheap.
