TFC #00 Optimus Prime Convoy Defect?

Hey Guys,
Wondering what to make of this TFC #0 MISB Prime which seems to have had both of his Smokestacks fall off and are loose in the packaging. Was this a defect? If I open the packaging will they reattach fine to his body?

Also if I decide to open the box does anyone recommend a blow dryer to remove the stickers? I would like to keep the box in as minty a condition as possible because it is so pretty.

I have never seen a defect like that before. As for the blow dryer thingy, prolly the best thing to do. Unless someone else has a better tactic.
