TFU Treadbolt & TFMovie Optimus production quirks?
Hi fellow boardies,
Just saw this at my local Zellers today. I couldn't believe it myself but i've got pictures to prove it.
Jetfire OR Treadbolt
It is a MISB toy i saw on the shelf. Clearly in a Treadbolt box but looking at the toy inside, it's mostly Jetfire coloured but you'll notice the cockpit and a few other areas are Tread bolt coloured! Production fault? I saw 3 other Treadbolts but they were fine.
Optimus Prime has a defective left hand?
Saw these two Optimus Primes at Zellers. Both appeared to be MISB but likely could be refunds. You can see the 2 Primes are in switched packaging but what is weird is the left hands!!! They're not Prime's original hands and looks to have been replaced.
My guess? Somebody bought both and ripped out the left hands.

My bet is someone removed the hands and replaced them to return them. Why? Kitbashing perhaps? Replace another Prime's broken hand? I don't know, but I'm sure as hell that isn't Hasbro's fault.
As for Treadbolt, clealry what happened is someone returned it after doing a parts swap with Jetfire. Somewhere out there, there is a figure that looks exactly opposite.

why would nayone want to replace treadbolt for jetfire...treadbolt has a horrible colour scheme it's brown for god/primus sake

well, G1 Jetfire color or too close to Macross does not really exciting me. Or somebody just want a "new" toys rather than an old one.

i see this kind of switcheroo all the time at the tru by my house.a few weeks ago there was a universe voyager heavyload(cement truck)opened and returned but instead of his missile,somebody took the time to twist tie in a piece of a broken dragon's tail.the missile should have been green but the dragon tail was a bright neon orange.how did they miss that??lolz!!wish i had taken pics
