Thanks for the tips all, I'll keep this in mind when I get my Megs in March which lead me to the question is the new reissue made of the same material or did they fix this issue?

I'll add that after you clean it up, you should put on a few coats of clear paint so you won't have to deal with that problem ever again.

I used Tamiya X-22 Clear, its Acrylic based and cleans easy with just plain tap water. And it's like $3.75 a bottle and found at my local hobby store

I forgot which one is mine but yeah. slowly it rusted. I'll check for this again if it comes back in a couple of months. the rust killer also advertised full protection afterwards.

I just opened my MP Megatron yesterday after it sat in storage for over 2 years. It has some tarnishing on the feet but it's hardly noticeable.

Now I'm wondering if I should open my first release Megs.
Been in storage, far from being any moisture around where the box is stored and with other MP's. Low humidity in the house.

Think it'll be bad?

I have the 1st release. Every square inch of metal is covered in cosmic rust. Was thinking about just buying a new one but I might try this rust killer instead!
