Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

i only have link and zelda.

these are my first non toys toys aka statues. they just stand there... looking pretty in their respective boxes

why i bought them? impulse buys cause they're zelda based.

if they made monster hunter based weapons, armour and monsters, i'd probably collect them all for the 3DS.

Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

sold off my wiiu because it was too expensive for what it is. These figures only add to the problem.

Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

There are 4 Best Buys and 4 Future Shops where I'm from. What are the odds that all stores will be sold out of Meta Knights on the first day?

Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

Figured I'd breathe some life into this thread, see if anybody is actually happy with how the distribution for these little rubbery plastic-crack idols has gotten. Personally, I never saw any figure from wave 4 except Pac Man, and the 4 or 5 stores I can hit that carry them never seem to have much in the way of fresh selection. I would buy a ton more of these if Nintendo ever got their act together, but the song and dance of hunting fruitlessly and scoping the crazy prices on Kijiji and eBay make it one heck of an uphill battle.

So how many have you guys managed to snag? So far, my count is: Mario, Peach, Bowser, Toad, DK, Link, Zelda, Toon Link, Shiek, Mega Man, Samus, Fox, Sonic, Pit and Palutina. There are a ton more I would love to grab, but the bad distribution and annoying retailer exclusives are a bummer. Still a great line, I just wish it was a little easier to collect.

Ya these kind of games & figures can get very expensive in the long run.

My son has skylanders so that's all we can afford.

Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

On a plus side, they act like watered down DLC that can be used across multiple games. Use one Amiibo to get a new suit for your Mii racer in Mario Kart 8, unlock a new weapon in Hyrule Warriors, get a bonus life in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and have a methodically improving AI combatant in Super Smash Bros that you essentially train to beat yourself. All that on top of a cool little statue ain't too shabby for the price.

Nintendo has such bad distribution, its like they are purposely making an artificial demand for some figures but not making many of them. Either they do not know what supply and demand means or they are so blind that they cannot see that people really want the amiibos and continue not to mass produce them. All I wanted was Link, Sonic and Lucario. Lucario is the only one left and it is nowhere to be seen. Doesn't help the fact that it was TRU exclusive, even then I have not seen even one at a TRU. I might be forced to pay online prices if Nintendo doesn't have the brains to make more and take my money

Re: Nintendo's Amiibo Figures Thread

Yeah, the store exclusives are terrible. My local TRU supposedly only got 20 Lucarios in. People were lined up in front of the store three hours before they opened. And the never got restocked. I hate the store exclusives.
