Re: Breaking Bad dolls removed from Toys 'R' Us website after mom's petition
Interesting discussion. I never even seen the show but she needs to get a life IMO.
Let me throw this out there. So what would happen if this was LEGO. LEGO creates a new theme for Breaking Bad. Is it the same thing?
I would love to see adult oriented LEGO themes. We got a little taste with The Simpsons and that was accepted with mixed emotions.
Surely thre can be an "adult collector" section in every TRU that specializes in that sort of product. I bet it would be popular. Store it at electronics if they are concerns.

Re: Breaking Bad dolls removed from Toys 'R' Us website after mom's petition
Honestly I've often wondered why the Pokemon figures are next to the Walking Dead figures in the odd Toys"R"us store.
It would take no effort for them to move these adult themed collectibles to their own section, instead of banning them entirely.
They sell "R" rated video games and movies. To me this shouldn't be that different. Don't stop selling them, just don't have them next to the Angry Birds.

Advertising drugs to kids is wrong no matter how you slice it. The figures are neat, but not for kids and have no business in a kids store.

It might be that sort of thinking that has the Masterpiece figures in the electronics sections. At my local TRU, they're in the same spot as the Aliens, Walking Dead, Freddy Krueger, etc. toys. I don't know if across the aisle from the Skylanders statue things is necessarily ideal but it is a little more isolated in the electronics section.

You should read Protoman's post, he explains it all.
Basically, I agree with you drugs shouldn't be marketted to kids.
But there's other toys in this category:
-WWF figures, Marvel Ironman, these are characters who promote drugs, alcohol, pornography, violence, racism, smoking, foul language, and lame music.
If Breaking Good toys are removed, then so should these more "traditional" toys, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if a 2002 WWF Stone Cold toy came with a beer can. And some of the WWF women figures are borderlining porn. (not to mention some of the male figures with tiny speedos)
But I agree, a bag of toy meth is rather pushing it!!

You raise a good point, don't games like Grand Theft Auto include drug & alcohol use?
Although it isn't a tangible toy meth, I admit.
