Re: The Narrative & Dialog of Transformers Prime

I don't hate Drift at all actually. It just struck me that Drift would have been a better use of character in that instance than Wheeljack was. But that is because I'm biased by G1 Wheeljack.

Re: The Narrative & Dialog of Transformers Prime

I'm not going to go too deep on this one
I think TF prime does a good job of telling a new continuation of transformers story and brings in a lot of history from other continuations which blend in nicely and can entertain any level of TF fan
Those who critisize it need to go outside and get some sun or fresh air-too much time on youtube
I myself enjoy TF prime and hope there are many more episodes to come

Re: The Narrative & Dialog of Transformers Prime

After the latest episode of Prime, I get more of a Springer vibe off of Wheeljack than Drift now.But it's cool. This is TF Prime and Prime Wheeljack isn't like previous Wheeljacks in the franchise.

Re: The Narrative & Dialog of Transformers Prime

Honestly, my only real beef (if you wanna call it that) with the show is how problems often seem to come & then go away for each episode, and how the "bigger picture" stuff doesn't seem to weigh in very much (if ever). I generally like these in tv shows & movies because I see them as a series (rather than just an episode), and from what I've read, this is one of the pretty popular points of criticism.

Although again, considering the audience this is aimed & (as well that it's a kid' show in 2012), I think the series has done a great job within what it can do. Maybe not Mainframe/Rainmaker level, but still great by comparison to most. There are tonnes of things done with the show to appeal to an older audience, and even if you ignore the silly Bantor jokes, there's still a good amount of influence from past series, and it really does leave me wanting to see the next episode & buy the toys.

Is it better than Reboot/Beast Wars/Beast Machines or Shadow Raiders? I don't think so. However, for me to say that it sucks because of that wouldn't be fair, and the same goes for comparing the story telling to a show like The Walking Dead or even Gargoyles because they're a totally different pot in themselves.
