Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
Oh nice, that's not a bad price! I watched maybe half an episode of Headmasters, so I haven't been able to form much of an opinion on it. I'd totally pick it up just for curiosity's sake though, just to see what happened after the original G1 run.

Japanese Headmasters is good. Took me a few episodes to get into it, though. They dealt with it a lot better than the Sunbow.

Ive seen headmasters and it is comparable to the earlier g1 seasons. Its OK.
If you are scared you might not like it, I recommend reading the current IDW comics instead.
If you are scared you might want to buy more toys after; yeah that will happen.

It can't be worse than the Bayformers movies.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
I'm drawn to Masterforce and feel obliged to give Headmasters a try. Sorta ambivalent to the idea of Victory but the completist in me says try all 3. Carissa says Headmasters. Can anyone recommend Masterforce as a standalone? Is Victory worth trying?

Try contacting Bryce. I think he's seen 'em. Doubt he visits our BC board though.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
Although from my own personal point of view, I don't see Masterforce as Transformers. It's more like Gundam with humans inside piloting lifeless transtectors. And I cannot fathom the thought that Optimus/Convoy is lifeless.
Victory might be interesting if I could get past the first episode. So far I've tried it twice and lost interest. Again to my mind, Star Saber looks like a Gundam.
Oh Headmasters does get annoying in the intro at one point (episode 14 and onwards) as the characters try to give all non-epileptics a seizure, like this:
These are just my own opinions. Go forth, watch it and form your own opinions.

Out of the three, Headmasters is my least favorite. I found it dragged on for me, it's cool to see the characters again, but it's a little different.
Masterforce, one of the best TF series hands down. Great stories, characters are well written, story line has great continuity.
Victory was pretty close to Masterforce in my eyes, they don't just slam you with the whole combiner right away, you get to know the characters that make them up as they go. Star Saber is a great leader, there's some comic relief in the form of Dinoking's members.

Personally, I found Masterforce the strongest of the three, Victory a close second, and dragging behind is Headmasters. It took me a year to finish Headmasters but only about a week to finish Masterforce.

Thing is, that's not Optimus. It's Ginrai. They didn't explain WHY he looks like Optimus in the cartoon but in the manga the transtector was made for Prime, presumably as some sort of upgrade. But that never got delved on.
Anything past Victory and a lot of the transformers started delving deep into "mecha" aesthetics. Because GaoGaiGar.
