r.i.p. robin williams
sad news for those who know and loved him...robin williams is gone now,age 63.
from msn....
SAN FRANCISCO - Robin Williams, the Academy Award winner and comic supernova whose explosions of pop culture riffs and impressions dazzled audiences for decades and made him a gleamy-eyed laureate for the Information Age, died Monday in an apparent suicide. He was 63.
Williams was pronounced dead at his San Francisco Bay Area home Monday, according to the sheriff's office in Marin County, north of San Francisco. The sheriff's office said the preliminary investigation shows the cause of death to be a suicide due to asphyxia.
The Marin County coroner's office said Williams was last been seen alive at home at about 10 p.m. Sunday. An emergency call from his house in Tiburon was placed to the Sheriff's Department shortly before noon Monday.
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," said Williams' wife, Susan Schneider. "On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

Re: r.i.p. robin williams
RIP.
I had the highest respect for the man as one of the most entertaining actors and comedians of the past few decades.
Mrs. Doubtfire...
Genie...
You will be missed.

Re: r.i.p. robin williams
I was surprised by how upset I was when I heard the news. He played some very memorable roles when I was growing up. The thought of someone with such limitless energy and talent now eternally silenced...
It just breaks my heart.

Re: r.i.p. robin williams
I watched Bicentennial Man last night, one of my favorite Williams movies. He'll certainly be missed. Think about it, at 63, he could have been doing movies for another 15-20 years!

Re: r.i.p. robin williams
As Mork on "Mork And Mindy" he made me laugh out loud at my TV set as a child.
As the voice of the Genie in "Aladdin" he taught my teen self that being optimistic is OK.
And in "What Dreams May Come" he helped shape my belief that there is hope in the afterlife (ironically, even after suicide).
Nanu nanu, Mork. You were indeed the candle that burned too bright.
