Sounds like the cashier was trying to help yopu out so you got free a leader and a free deluxe instead of two deluxes, which is how most places do this thing.

That would be normal. It's not really a "buy 1 we give you a 2nd free" sale. It's actually a buy 2, pay for 1 sale.

It's called BOGO, not BTPOFO (buy 2 pay only for 1). Anyway, the cashier should have told me about the promo.

Maybe at restaurants they'll tell you about meal combos to save you money, but rarely checkout counters in stores.
