It's automatic. It won't ring in until you purchase the second one though, so don't worry if nobody knows about it, unless it doesn't show up as a negative purchase on the second item

2 for 1 is automatic when the cashier hits "total". Cashier didn't know about the sale, but the computer made it happen.
Did NOT work for Marvel Crossover Transformers though.

They have 0 signs at MAc TRU.

confirmed at my local store! although the selection is pretty weak 
The ROTF Leaders and HA are pretty good pick-ups for this sale. As for myself I grabbed some TFA Activators....
