Re: Buying Transformers Masterpieces from overseas

I always order from Nippon Yasan, shipping is always very cheap, prices are always comparable to Anime-Export if you preorder right away.

Anyone who says otherwise is doing something wrong and the best part is, you don't have to pay upfront.

No, it's dirt cheap but takes something like 3 or 4 months.

Have you looked at NY's shipping lately?

I posted this in another thread...

Here are some comparisons of NY's recent crazy shipping rate against HLJ

LG10 Arcee SAL shipping : HLJ 680¥ vs NY 1080¥
LG13 Megatron SAL shipping: HLJ 1280¥ vs NY 2490¥
MP23 reissue SAL shipping: HLJ 780¥ vs NY 1190¥ (Note: My MP23 order from NY was charged 780¥ before)
MP-10 EMS shipping: HLJ 4420¥ vs NY 5400¥
UW02 Menasor EMS shipping: HLJ 3680¥ vs NY 4700¥

Do you have Tracks on preorder from NY?
I do...what a mistake. Shipping is $23usd, half the cost of Tracks ($45usd). OUCH!

My next 4 MPs are pre-ordered with AE. In fact AE has my Exhaust packed a ready to ship to me (so they say) with tracking number...$44usd+$9usd.

Darth Cylon, are these costs all apple-to-apple comparisons? As in same delivery service? I like the prices if so!

Yes. If you read my post again, I have specified the shipping type. I compared unregistered SAL and EMS service.

Here's another post from me.

I ordered Kotobukiya D-style Starscream and Skywarp & Thundercracker 2 pack from Amiami. They are charging me 1180 JPY for Unregistered SAL shipping. HLJ is charging 1280 JPY for the same shipping serivce.

But NY is charging 2190 JPY to ship these 2 items with Unregistered SAL!

I did not order MP-25/26/27 from NY because their shipping rate is just much higher than what I think would cost.

Again, I haven't experienced that, maybe it's based on where you live, but I'm further from Japan than you and my shipping wasn't that crazy

Thanks for everyones feedback on this topic. I'm gonna decide between Anime Export or HLJ. Just going to check with a friend and maybe preorder together.
