Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, Headmasters is hard to swallow in any language. Don't get me wrong, it has it's moments (like Episode 3's Birth of Double Convoy and the high budget "My Friend Sixshot" episode which was done by a different animation studio). If you HAVE to watch it, watch it in japanese with english subs..... the StarTV/Singapore dubs are just..... bad. I mean geez, the names....

Rodimus Convoy/Prime = Roadimus Prime (Yes.... Road)
Broadcast/Blaster = Billy (I... don't know)
Blurr = Wally (Ditto.....)
Meister/Jazz = Marshall (Maybe something lost in the translation)
Metroplex = Philip (Ultra Magnus: SPRINGER! You are Arcee transform Philip!)
Shouki = Grimlock (I don't know how THAT happened)
Twincast = Blaster (Wait what...?)
Soundblaster = New Soundwave (along with New Megatron instead of Galvatron eh??)

Daniel = Danny (Eh..... close enough)
Spike = Sparkle (and he is FABULOUS!)
Carly = Carrie (Eh...... close enough)

Cybertron = Cyberdon (Sounds like the name of a bad TMNT toy)
Chaar = Jonnos
The Matrix = The Power Pack
Energon = Power Packs (I am lost too.....)

I can go on forever........... but I think I have done enough pain for one night.

So it was dubbed in the UK right? Or maybe they received a script that was originally English to Japanese and to English again?

I think it's more like that translators decided to goto a local bar and fill up on SAKE,
then, the day before the script is due and then they realize they didn't even start on the project.

Some episodes were released on DVD in the UK as extras (like say the Metrodome TF:TM).

These originally aired in Malaysia and years later would be airred on Star TV in Singapore. This was when some fans managed to record and turn the episodes into realplayer format for the whole world to see (back in 1998). The company that DID the dubbing is unknown but this was not their first or last work, they did the dub for the Dragonball Live Action movie (Yes there was one..... it's bad). So if you want to hear all those voices but now on Dragonball characters, give it a gander (like Galvatron = Emperor Pilaf, Daniel = Son Goku, ect)

I like how all the VAs are the same three guys who do every hong kong dub ever.
