Re: Which of these "Classics" series do you love the most?

The Classics sect of G3.

Something about when I was in a TRU that fateful day and spotted Hot Rod, Starscream, and Astrotrain. At the time I was out of the collecting game, but after seeing and purchasing these three without hesitation, I was back in.

These are all the same thing, there is no difference. At Botcon 2007 they called the next batch of classics (universe) to be Classics 2.0, the same with Generations being Classics 3.0, it's all the same line just released at different times.

You should get United Jazz then, it's easily the best figure Classics has given us I think.

Re: Which of these "Classics" series do you love the most?

Tough call...I think ima say Reveal the Shield. Jazz, Wreck-Gar, Grapple, Tracks, Lugnut, Perpceptor, Windcharger, and most of the legends are very good figures. G2 Prime and Frumble look good too but I don't have them.

Generations was good too but it was mostly obscure stuff, repaints, and WFC which I did't care as much for as some other people.

Classics was ok but the decos sucked. If Henkei is included, that's probably my favorite. I love my Henkei Starscream, Astrotrain, Optimus Prime, Megs, and Rodimus so much more than the US versions.

Universe only had a few gems (Hound, Cyclonus, Inferno), but a lot of the molds are kind of mediocre. The proportions on the Prowl mold and Sideswipe mold (when the hood becomes the chest) aren't good, Ironhide had a blue face and a jigsaw puzzle alt mode, Cheetor sucks all around, Octane has a weird robot mode and short winged plane mode...Hot Shot doesn't look that good, Galvatron can't stay together, too short, and too complicated. Voyagers were mostly Cybertron molds that shelfwarmed. I can STILL find some of them around. Ultras were kind of meh. Only one I liked is Powerglide and they even managed to ruin him with his white deco.

Overall I say: Classics (Henkei deco) > RTS > Generations > Universe = Classics (American deco)

Sorry for wasting your time.

I guess I also shouldn't make a poll breaking The Unicron Trilogy into its 3 components because they're "all the same line just released at different times" as well.

Thank-you Bountyan, I was hoping this thread to have such types of opinions and detail.

I take it you're a seeker fanatic as well?

Re: Which of these "Classics" series do you love the most?

I voted Classics, mainly because it's the only one I went completist on. From the other 3, I only got less than a handful of figures each.

Re: Which of these "Classics" series do you love the most?

I've thought about it and thought about it and I can't give you a answer. Each line had a figure or two that did something different or better that makes it stand out in their respective line and to the other lines as well:

Classics: OP, Megs, Mirage, etc. took the G1 concept and not only modernized it engineering wise, but also updated the look and design to something newer and different, but still clearly belonging to G1.

Universe 2.0: Sunstreaker and Sideswipe share the same body, but was designed for 2 very different robot modes and is something that scores more marks than any other in terms of engineering and execution. Inferno has this updated and really realistic look and detailing that I wish all Classics style TFs had.

Generations: The WFC subline though not really belonging to the Classics style line, but were very well designed and accurate to their VG counterparts. If I can digress for a moment, the WFC look is the perfect blend of something different while still maintaining its G1 roots, and I wish these were in the movies instead of the bayformer style TFs. Anyways, Scourge is a amazing toy in terms of G1 accuracy and near perfect execution, and is probably best of the CHUG line.

RTS: Jazz is a amazing toy in terms of G1 accuracy and near perfect execution, and is also probably best of the CHUG line.

Re: Which of these "Classics" series do you love the most?

I voted for Generations because it gave me Wheeljack (my favorite!) as well as the awesome that is Warpath, but so many other good figures. To be honest I loved all of the Classics related lines, they have greta figures and with the exception of one or two, I have pretty much all of the deluxe and voyager sized toys. I regret not getting Darkwind when he was out, as I actually like that mold, but he came out during a time when I was shunning repaints.

But yeah, I love all the lines and I really look forward to the return of these lines so the G1 renewing can continue.

Classics, for me! It was the line that re-started it all for me, and brought me into collecting TFs!
