Before I heard about Hasbros new Triple changer Voyager Springer I started work on my own version. Deluxe GDO Springer was the base for the figure. I didn't like the way the blades either hung down or stuck strait up or the wings on him...springer didn't have wings like that or those chicken feet, lol. I decided to do a little work on him.
Parts used and how I used them.
Fast action Battlers Prime :feet X2
GDO Springer X2 : swords 2X (picked up a second one on sale just for this custom)
Covenant Banshee Megabloks set: single peg cap X2
first I took off the feet from fast action brattlers Prime and cut off the helicopter blades. I removed the screw from springers ankle, separated the 2 halfs and slid primes foot onto the ankle peg (wrapped alittle tape around the peg for a tighter fit) then reassembled the foot, now he has a real foot...it made him a little shorter but it looks better. I took 2 single peg port parts ( a small circle with a small peg on the side big enough for a kreon hand that fits on a single lego/kreo block peg) from the Megabloks covenant banshee (on clearance at walmart for $5) set that I used to custom my kreo combiners and glued them on either side of the helicopter blade tower. I cut up the old blades and covered the open area in the blade ports. those will now be used hold the handles of the swords making them the new copter blades.
With the original blades removed I can now fold the wings behind him to bulk him up to give him the more body builder shape he is supposed to have and it increases his articulation. I still have some work to do, clean him up alittle and work on his car mode, Im using the wheel housing and wheels from the FAB Prime for this figure as well....when I get around to it.
