What Got You into Transformers

Hey,

It beens a while since i posted anything so why not today.

Anyways, while sitting around, i started wondering of my first transformer that i got as a present which led into the realization that its only been a couple of months and ive become a transformers addict.

My question to you guys is....

What got you into transformers in the first place?

This is just an opinion/personal thread so if you feel you want to, go ahead and tell us all how you became a transformers lover.

Re: What Got You into Transformers

As a kid, kinda foggy but I think it was Soundwave,,,

As a collector, a friend of mine was looking to get some transformers G1 episodes and asked me if I could find them on the internet... before I knew it, I was all into it too and got every single episode in the TF English universe and got me a New Year Prime and the rest followed suite.

Re: What Got You into Transformers

As a kid I was never really a "collector" I had a few ranging from '84 through Micromasters.

As an adult - ALTERNATORS!! I was killing time at at work and did a transformers search in google images. I was presented with the Binaltech Smokescreen and that was it....Hook, line, and sinker. $9,000 bucks or so later hear I am

Re: What Got You into Transformers

I started watching the G1 reruns when I was 5-6. Got a few G2 toys, then went into Beast Wars and got many of the season 1 toys. Didn't like the Transmetal toys at the time but still watched the show religiously and when we started getting updated G1 character toys I got into the full swing of collecting round the tail end of Armada.

Re: What Got You into Transformers

I can't really remember much from my early years or what actually got me into Transformers but as a child they were the only toys I played with and the only Toy Series etc... that stuck 100% throughout my childhood. I had a brief Silverhawk stage and I even had the odd GI Joe toy etc...

Apparently started playing with them when I was 3 but I've got pictures of christmas 1986 and me receiving Blurr, Hotrod, Kup and Ultra Magnus and I can still remember playing with the Ultra Magnus on Christmas morning.

Re: What Got You into Transformers

As I recall, my sister was a big fan of the show, so I'd have to assume she got me into the series. It's pretty hard for me to remember a time when I at least was not aware of what Transformers were.

I still remember one of my earliest memories was getting a G2 Starscream from the local Toys 'R' Us way back when.

It was kind of a constant childhood line right up until Beast Machines, which I watched but didn't get any of the toys.

Kinda fell out of the loop after RID started up, and got back into the swing of things during the 07 movie craze.

What got me back into collecting was a desire to have my Beast Wars toy again.
