^LOL

POTP was just last year and they still had those combiners. They just offered fans the last combiner they wanted to finish up the line-up. For sure they were going to use a similar design, what do you think!

Hard agree, that was like the whole Scramble City thing, is that they could all mix & match

Devy wasn't compatible, and his current incarnation isn't either
Predaking wasn't compatible, and his current incarnation isn't either

But Superion, Menasor, Defensor, Bruticus, Computron, Abominus, and now Piranacon - they all were
So it makes sense they all have inter-compatible ports

Best I could say is it would have been nice to have a new torso sculpt, instead of the Silverbolt again
Granted, the newest Elita/SS torso they tried isn't the greatest either
But Snaptrap was doomed to be same sculpt the moment we saw that HunGrrr was

Re: haslab unicron

The Seasons were always going to be retools/remolds using the combiner wars system. That is not the problem. Premium price is.

Totally. They are MASSIVE retools, hell, they are exceptionally clever and surprising retools. They are more detailedthan a typical retail release.

But not twice the retail price.

Jabba's Sail Barge was also really slow going during the campaign but a last minute influx of mystery orders brought it well over the campaign goal. I'm guessing retailers putting their orders in at the same time at the very last minute might account for that spike. I'm a crazy person with terrible financial skills so I've got my order for this big guy in and I'm hoping for those last minute orders to bump thing thing over it's goal.

Yes but as far as I'm ready it was closer to 3/4 backed at a similar time frame, not... One. It's possible the broader and more universal appeal of star wars helps here. Wasn't the sail barge given a bigger span of time as well?

Re: haslab unicron

If it failed they have only themselves to blame. With only a bit more than a month notice it is hardly enough for some, at least not for me. I am wreckness in this kind of things but I do have other commitments. And it is kind of out of the blue mid July w/o any sort of pre-announcement or warning. Should be at least October.

Re: haslab unicron

Sadly, I don't see Unicron's price going down or anything. But I wouldn't be surprised if they included yet to be announced extras to sweeten the deal if the number of backers doesn't pick up.

Re: haslab unicron

They need that G1 Box and that Krannix Figure. The Sail Barge would've never sold as much if it wasn't for the Retro Style packaging.

Re: haslab unicron

I ordered one and when it came out to 635 USD. Sat there and thought about it. Decided to cancel the order and learned that I could have it shipped to the border so put in the order for 2 and have them shipped to the Montana border.

Would have saved some cash (no taxes and "free shipping") but put in for 2. Not sure for for folks who can have their items shipped to the border or can drive the distance but that could be an option for some
