Re: Opinions on Masterpiece line (TT and Hasbro) request

The TT Megatron and SW are my only two MPs from them. I'm very happy with Hasbro's versions. I only ordered TT SW before I knew hasbro was doing him. There is a difference in quality, but not much.

Re: Opinions on Masterpiece line (TT and Hasbro) request

I have Takara and Hasbro versions of:
  • MP08 vs. Hasbro TRU MP Grimlock
  • MP13 vs. Has TRU MP Soundwave
  • MP11 & MP11S vs. Has TRU Thundercracker & Acid Storm
In all cases the domestic releases edge out their imported couterparts thanks to better accessories, extra decos and overall peace of mind knowing I won't break a piece off a $200 toy. IMO, only Acid Storm falls short in the QC department but I think that's more to do with mold degradation than anything.

Well, if the Botcon 2013 Seekers pack is any indication of how much farther HasTakTomy can milk the MP11 mold I'd say there's Hotlink and Bitstream to come.

Oh, and like I said before:

as for seekers we still need the cone heads than they can stop lol.... if you look at it today there are almost the same number of mp cars as seekers... so its about time the cone heads come to life....

Funny, my MP Acidstorm is pretty much perfect.

My Hasbro MP 01 is also flawless. I know people prefer MP 10, but that guy is solid and completely awesomesauce.

I have all three and your right there flawless.....

I have always loved my mp10 over mp01 till I got mp01s trailer and seeing G1, mp01 and mp10 side by side with all their glory I can't help to site back and enjoy the times over they years I have had with them....

i cant believe im saying this but after next year, with bumble bee ,wheeljack and ultra Magnus coming out im getting board of cars. Galvatron is surely to come soon, but what NEXT?

Don't the rear stabilizers fall off yours? If not you're lucky as mine are quite loosey mclooserson.

Also I'm mildly irked that his eyes are green instead of red. I swapped out my Hasbro Wal-Mart MP Skywarp's head for a Takara MP03 head just so he'd rock the red like his MP11 mold Seeker brothers instead of yellow.

Same reason I bought the ReproLabels set for MP02 Soundwave. Red Eyes > Yellow Eyes.

Re: Opinions on Masterpiece line (TT and Hasbro) request

I'll have to agree with the OP. MP SW was a bit of a let down. Paint apps and overall feel was not a good as I thought it would be. I have the Hasbro MP10 and that was done so much better and a lower price to boot. Even the Seekers (TC/AS) shows better quality IMO.

I suppose, compared to the price of the Takara version, the domestic one is still a bargain...i guess I was just expecting a little more because it's part of the MP line and past MP releases have all exceeded my expectations.
