Re: SS86 Hot Rod Review (I Really Dislike this thing)

Cool. I have both tr and the classics mold so if I skip ss86, I won't be too bummed. Maybe I'll save that cash for Rodimus! I'll be waiting for reviews to see if he's worth it.

What a strange review.

I think this is a major player in the views on characters and their classifications. To some its about the hunk of plastic in front of you... not the R&D, engineering or complexity which has to be figured in.

The pens are great, the ass end of the SS Roddy is not. That’s as bad or worse than the ER Arcee/Elita/Medic and it’s a shell former. Almost had me convinced but that booty is a deal breaker. Hell even the G1 has a more closed cohesive back end.

They should be hitting general retail this month. They have released the ss 86 grimlock, Roddy and rest shouldn't be far behind

Which I did account for and I still don't remotely see the math add up. Nothing done here is THAT special and, at points, feels overengineered for the size to me. I mean, I shouldn't be able to see my finger behind that leg plastic that folds out. This is nowhere near as engineered as, say, Scourge or Cyclonus so I stand my my initial assessment but if you think there is enough to justify the loss of literally half the product content then cool. If this is the new valuation Hasbro expects us to accept then I'll very soon be out on supporting first party.
