Re: G1 paperwork

Good luck, man. I'd say you'd need to buy the whole set to get the paperwork. I don't think too many owners would want to sell their certificates and keep the figures, as the figures themselves would then lose their authenticity (maybe?).

Re: G1 paperwork

You make an interesting point. I don't actually foresee anyone selling just the paperwork from a completed set but was thinking more about people who collect and/or resell G1 paperwork. I've seen these certificates in G1 catalogue/instructions/paperwork lots on eBay but unfortunately wasn't interested in collecting them until recently. Now that I'm actually looking to buy, I of course don't see them very often.

As far as the authenticity of a completed figure is concerned, the movie edition certificate and the mailer box would certainly be helpful in trying to establish authenticity of a mail away figure but in my opinion certainly wouldn't be conclusive. For example, a #5 edition trailer may have been documented as having been used for some of the mail away Primes but I don't think that anyone can say with any certainty that it was used 100% of the time, particularly from region to region. In my opinion it probably wasn't that scientific back when they were selling these toys in the 80's. I may be wrong but I'm sure that many of them just came from overstock from what wasn't sold in the stores.

Re: G1 paperwork

Ah gotcha, I wasn't thinking of paperwork resellers. Who only knows how they got the paperwork in the first place!
