G1 Mega Pretender Vroom Autobot MIB (Toronto)

So here's the story, I recently found this toy in my closet since I'm moving out and I must have forgotten it for a long long time.

I'm trying to refrain from selling this on eBay/Forums obviously due to my lack of reputation and fear of PayPal disputes/shipping woes. I am NOT a collector and would barely qualify as a casual fan.

So I would really like to sell this in a local deal in the GTA and only mail out/use eBay if I cannot get a decent price for this piece.

Image gallery is there, everything seems to be sealed as in original condition and it obviously has not been played with. I'll take more photos if anyone is interested in it.

I can't even set a price on this as I have no idea where to begin but I have asked around on another forum and it's suggested that I take it anywhere from $250-$300. I hate to say it, but I'm also trying to fund my wedding, so anything I can get over the $250 range is bonus.

Also if there are any suggestions on maybe hobby stores in the GTA that might give me a good offer, please let me know.

Thanks everyone.

EDIT: Thanks again for the added advice. I guess I'll start this off at $250 OBO then!

EDIT2: SOLD to a local buyer at a very reasonable $300! Glad to have made a collector happy.

Not much around in the hobby stores. And it is super unlikely they will purchase that from you for $300. You will have to do the independent route and sell to a buyer for that amount. Even some of the g1 sellers at the shows probably wouldn't buy it from you for what you're asking since they would be looking for a turnover. Best of luck - i'm sure there are pretender buyers out there.

Is the plastic container sealed to the card? If so then you can hopefully get above $200 for it, based on this example.

However, Vroom's not a particularly popular Pretender, so it's doubtful you would get $300 for it.

Thanks guys for the guidance.

I guess I'll settle for a local buyer anywhere in the $250 range then. Thanks!

I had no idea what you were talking about, but checked again, and YES! There is tape on the two bottom corners but everything seems pretty well sealed! I'm surprised the glue held up after so many years...

mib unused, sealed to the card, expensive, rare pretender, $300 isn't unreasonable, it's on the high end, yes. but the only one that is close is sitting at a bin of $365, the one you pointed out, while sealed to the card, is yellowed, that'll knock a ton off the asking price.

good luck with your sale

Do you mind me asking why the paint color yellowed over time? Is it the oxidation from the seal? or sunlight?

I can't believe that someone would have kept this in box near sunlight for over 20 years... Mine was in my closet so.. yeah...

I wish I had kept all my other toys....
