Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
Catching up on this thread.
Haven't purchased much from this current line, but just realized the Hot Shot with the little guy is the same toy as the Hot Shot by itself!?!
The one by itself is still listed on the site.

Deluxe Class jumps to Leader Class, wowzers, just wowzers...

Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
1. It is an exclusive. 2. Comes wiht a minicon transformer. 3. Comes will blast effects. 4. comes with two new guns.
You get a lot more for that price but it is still up there.

The copium is strong. Clearly people dont think a minicon, 2 guns and some blast effects are worth the cost of another deluxe.

No but add 5-10 bucks for this being an exclusive.

Exclusive means you can buy it exclusively at X store. It benefits a seller by funneling more customers to a specific store.
Toys are a little different from Games where the retailer will pay for an exclusive and for some reason think they can just pass that cost on to the customer. They get the benefit of the exclusive for free... or try too.

Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
Pretty sure the store carrying the exclusive pays a higher price to Hasbro, too. Hasbro isn't doing the retailers any favours. Exclsivity has a cost. Both for the consumer, and the retailer.
That being said, exclusives are still a scam.

Not sure what you're basing this on. Plenty of exclusives are regular MSRP. For example, medix. Minerva. the various GS that have hit GameStop. BWBB exclusives are msrp (at least at target, tru Canada bullshit increases are across). Walmart exclusives are msrp. It's an exception, not the rule, for exclusives to cost more "just because."
Pl hot shot is an arbitrary price point. Let's say a minicon is 10 bucks (based on battle master pricing a bit ago). Two guns. Some (reused) blast effects.
I can see 20 over a Regular deluxe. Thirty? Come now. It's a shitty price.
