1984 G1 Transformers vs. Classics/Universe

Hey Guys,

I was just thinking the other day, that so far we're doing pretty good on assembling the ranks of the first series of Transformers from 1984 in the Classics/Universe line. Here's the line-up so far.

Optimus Prime (Voyager Classics Prime, I personally have my Masterpiece Prime displayed instead)
Brawn (Coming soon in Legends scale)
Bumblebee (Classics Deluxe, a more G1 version coming soon in Legends scale)
Cliffjumper (Classics Deluxe - Upgrade Kit available)
Bluestreak/Silverstreak (Universe Deluxe)
Hound (Coming soon, Universe Deluxe)
Ironhide (Universe and Henkei Deluxe)
Mirage (Classics Deluxe)
Prowl (Universe Deluxe)
Ratchet (Coming Soon, Universe/Henkei Deluxe)
Sideswipe (Universe Deluxe)
Sunstreaker (Universe Deluxe)
Megatron (Classics Voyager/Henkei Voyager I personally have my Masterpiece Prime displayed instead)
Soundwave (TRU reissue, But the Music Label is a better fit with Classics)
Ravage (Coming soon with Hound)
Skywarp (Target Exclusive 2 pack, Henkei Deluxe)
Starscream (Classics Deluxe, Wal-Mart Masterpiece Edition, Universe Deluxe, Henkei Deluxe)
Thundercracker (Botcon Exclusive, Henkei Deluxe)

So the bots we're missing includes
-Gears
-Huffer (There was a Botcon repaint, but I'm hoping for a new Legends Mold)
-Windcharger
-Bumblejumper (I doubt we'll ever see him, since he never really existed in the first place)
-Jazz
-Trailbreaker
-Wheeljack
-Rumble
-Frenzy
-Lazerbeak
-Buzzsaw

Jazz and Wheeljack seem to be the most glaring choices for new Classics figures (and I really don't plan on including that Shattered Glass Jazz in the Classics line up). Trailbreaker would be a good choice as well, since there have not been many trucks included in the line up so far.

Soundwave could really use a new sculpt in a Voyager Size, and the new Ravage figure opens the door to have his cassettes as pack ins with future figures.

I'm hoping for more Legends class figures for the Minibots. It's a good way to release small G1 Characters.

Please don't consider this a comprehensive list. I know I didn't include the Henkei versions in many of those listed above.

The 1985 series isn't doing as well for completion as the 1984 series is, partially because of the inclusion of many teams; Dinobots, Constructicons, Insecticons, that really haven't even been touched yet (I'm not counting that Horrible repaint of Devastor as a true Classics figure.) 1985 is only sitting at about 35 - 40% of bots completed.

Hope everyone enjoys the list and feel free to comment!

Cheers!
-Ian

Seems like Jazz might get the short end of the stick. He's had the botcon exclusive, an animated version and ( haven't kept up with the spoilers so not sure on this), possibly a 2nd movie version as well. They've also done him as a legend too, so we might not see another universe update.

Has Trailbreaker had an update since G1? Didn't even make it as an alternators repaint even with a head sculpted for him.

Prowl has gotten a new Classics universe figure, an Animated deluxe, and upcoming animated Legends. Don't see why Jazz can't get a deluxe figure for Universe.

Simple logic really.

Animated Prowl =black/tan police motorcycle
Universe Prowl =black/white police car

Animated Jazz =white with red/blue stripes sports car
Universe Jazz =white with red/blue stripes
sports car

If animated Jazz had been silver like his movie self a universe Jazz might have happened sooner. It is still possible for a universe Jazz at some point.

What lars said, and also Prowl had a couple of obvious repaints.
There has been quite a few kitbashers who have repainted Prowl into Jazz and Sunstreaker into Wheeljack. Might not be as simple as it seems for Hasbro to retool those molds, but they'd work pretty well.

Figure it might be awhile till we see any additional new molds anyways. All the announced universe/25th stuff should take us through to the Spring at least. Mostly movie designs on the go now I'd assume. Unless they're planning to keep universe going concurrently?

All will come with time. but I really see stuff like the other tapes being done (specially with the door open now that Ravage/Hound happened) while others like Windcharger might take sometime (I sorta see him being a repaint legends of somemone)
