Gobots Question.

No, not those Gobots Sureshot.

What is the market on these guys right now? I've decided I want to hunt down a Leader-1 (carded), but have no idea what reasonable prices are for the Gobot line.

Anybody out there with more knowledge than me able to help me out?

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for putting a nasty Gobot thread in the Transformers section. Feel free to punt it.

Re: Gobots Question.

Leader1 is not very rare, so I would say anywhere between $15-25 for carded, loose $2-5. But I would check with GobotFreak to be certain.

Re: Gobots Question.

So the $90 one on eBay is overpriced then? I didn't think that was reasonable.

Re: Gobots Question.

No way, even at TFCON they had some (not Leader1 but other characters) going for ~$40 range.

Re: Gobots Question.

I just saw the listing on ebay, it's a blue leader-1. Yeah I'm not to sure about the blue variant, that might be a bit rarer than the normal grey, but still $90's a bit much. That sellers other carded gobots look more reasonably priced though.

Re: Gobots Question.

Keep in mind there's the regular sized Gobots, and then some have a Super size version. Leader-1 has both sizes. Can't recall if the larger one comes on a card or in a box.

And there's nothing wrong with Gobots. The figures were pretty cool, for the most part. Its just the Hanna-Barbera cartoon that was slightly off (the fact that they were cyborgs, among many other things). But now enough time has passed that it has aged into some hilarious 1980s cheese.

Re: Gobots Question.

The bigger Gobots would have been sold in a box.

Leader-1 was very common and should not command too much money. Cy-Kill on the other hand can be quite more expensive and harder to find.

All the gobots had a Japanese version from the MicroRobo line and they would have come in boxes with stickers. If you can get your hands on those ones, they display very nicely. Also the Japnese line had like 100 more figures than the North American line.

For those who dis the Gobots, remember that they outsold Tranformers 8 to 1 in the early years. It was the terrible show that killed it in North America.

Re: Gobots Question.

keep in mind what shepp said, there's regular and supersized.
the super sized only comes in one color(iirc)
and the regular comes in two colors, standard grey and the dark navy blue version.
one thing to also keep in mind is that as slick as the regular sized blue version looks,it severely suffers from a form of gps,but blue instead of gold.
it took me three donor bots to make one complete, only to have the complete ones arm snap right off on first transformation......think of g2 slingshot, only blue
