Is there still a market for Junkers?
I remember even well before I joined this community. You could sell junkers on ebay and on here. Is the mod community moved on? Has collectors expectations changed in the last few years.
Just curious as I have about two totes full from a recent large purchase.
I'm not really interested in listing them on here, as I think I would just be wasting peoples time.
However, ebay does have a wider audience. Just like my recent sales thread, Its all about making space. I don't want to take a loss, but even at a dollar each i'd still make a few dollars.
Trying to figure out if I should do it by theme or just do it in one or two large lots on ebay. Action style, or BIN.
Its mainly Unicron Trilogy through to a few years ago. Very few g1.
What do you guys think?

Re: Is there still a market for Junkers?
I don't know about a big market, but I do know I'm looking for some parts and accessories for some figures (and parts OF some figures), as is everyone else. Harvesting from junkers is more viable than just outright getting the whole figure.
Plus I like to take things apart sometimes.

Re: Is there still a market for Junkers?
I think there's an audience, but I also think that people tend to want that stuff for next to nothing which isn't fair. I dunno, its a hard call to make, especially when it comes to its online market.

Very limited audience.
Go talk to the kitbashers and customizers, they are your market now.

Yeah.
But first, would you like to know the parts I'm looking for? It's alright if not, I'm small potatoes.

Re: Is there still a market for Junkers?
Sure there is though the market may not be very big, I have little pet projects I like to have junkers for. Then again I'll kitbash almost anything even Takara figures Maybe I'm more of a part swapper though. Kitbashers may be more inclined to purchase at a toy show because shipping adds to the cost and at a show buying in bulk is a win. I suggest if you want to sell junkers do it at a show. I've sold some junkers at shows and IMO I think that's a way to go, takes a day or two and if you liquidate and revise your prices every so often during the show you should move a bit of stuff.
Anybody got a junker RTS Jazz? Then I can start another project. I just want his head. Check out what I did to a Takara FOC Ultra Magnus:

Re: Is there still a market for Junkers?
Not really.
TF fans have become a fickle bunch in the last few years, selling anything that's not G1 if it's missing any parts or major accessories is pretty hard, unless you're willing to sell them at $2-5 each...even that can be a hard sell. I was letting kids at TFcon fill a shopping bag for $20 with transformers that were either missing parts or accessories as I just wanted them gone.
I'd list them up on Kijji and hope for the best.

Yeah, unless someone is specifically looking for piece X, and your junker has it, it's a tough sell generally.
I've bought junkers, including a junker trypticon, and sandstorm, in the past, and been very grateful for them.

Re: Is there still a market for Junkers?
I've found junkers a harder sell over the past couple years than they were before, even G1 stuff.
As previously mentioned the shipping costs that would be added to a junker - say you had a spare arm and leg I might need for a Cybertron Hotshot or something, the shipping would likely double or triple the cost. Makes it all less attractive.

Well the thing is are you looking for parts (which still have a market, guns, missiles, ect) or arms and legs (which is what a JUNKER is really)
