The Vault

I was gifted a book called The Vault : the Complete Transformers Universe. Here is a short pictorail review. It is very informative and includes very current information. Rodimus is listed under the masterpiece toy section and Transfomers: Prime is mention in the future section. Each section also features some sort of pull out media.

It has 5 chapters which cover toys,

comics,

television,

movies,

and the future,

I would consider this must have item for any tf collector.

Even GMfan...

I really enjoyed the Ultimate Transformers. I have re-read that many times over. This book is a very good book but I find the UT has more flip through eye candy. Furman knows what I want... Issue #81 (lol)
I just finished reading Vault as was happy through and through. Hard cover gives it a great feel. A definite gem for the collection. Brings it all together nicely.

Re: The Vault

I finished reading mine, and learned some things. Great book, wish it was a little more in depth. But really nice quality, durable slipcover and all.

Hmmmm...how did I not see this post sooner?

Anyways...knew about those slippers before getting this book but have yet to obtain them...thankfully my research has shown them to only be one size which makes variant collecting a hell of a lot easier :P

The UK seems to be the source for much obscure Magnus merch, my guess due to his popularity in the UK Marvel run of the Transformers comic.

...PS they'd have to be pretty stretchy, I'm a 10.5

Re: The Vault

Yeah Magnus had a lot of love in the UK oddly....... that Target 2006 story line made him VERY bad ass.

Re: The Vault

I have really enjoyed the book, however I do wish we'd get one more in this style with the following information in it.

A Comprehensive Guide to The Transformers Toyline, featuring lists of every era's toylines with full color photos, the parts included and such, made officially from the people at Hasbro. Including replicas of all the vintage catalogues from G1 and the detailed stuff found on the backs of most Beast Era card backs/catalogues.

And last but not least, removeable cut-out versions of every single character bio/tech-spech from G1 to the present, excluding Botcon stuff of course.

Then I could have everything in one convenient package, perhps two or three if they made it in volumes, like Volume 1 G1-G2, Volume 2 BW-RID and Volume Three Armada-Universe/Classics/Generations, what have you. (With perhaps a seperate Volume for the Movieverse as well.)

We adult fans would certainly pick up a book or books of this type and give them even more money for the bloody things. Don't deny it.

The Vault is a wonderful book, The Ultimate Guide was too, but as a toy collector primarily both fall flat when it comes to having detailed photos of every single toy release from G1 to the present. True you can find most of them online at any given site, but all bound up in a book form would be my ideal choice for glancing fondly at images of toys I have yet to own or may never own or even ones I own, but want to just see them with perhaps in package pics as well to remember what it was like before ripping the package open and tfing it for the first time.
