Re: Dark of the Moon Lunarfire Optimus Prime Released at US Retail

Maybe Wal-Mart will be so clogged with Orange Roadbusters and Gold Primes that the rollback will stay for a long time.

But, I gotta ask: is Wal-Mart insane? Any store that didn't clearance the last set of Deluxe Primes still has oodles of them.

It's decisions like this that make me think that Hasbro and retailers just don't think things through. If Wal-Mart is making the stupid request for cases of 8 Primes, then they should have their own abounding in-store evidence that this is, well, dumb. If Hasbro isn't offering other ideas or possibilities for Wal-Mart exclusives, they are being pretty stupid too.

It takes about five minutes to think up a way this could be better handled, and it's shocking to me that no one is spending that five minutes.

Everywhere I go "store exclusives" are clogging the shelves. My Wal-Mart has a walk-around square display with regular Deluxe Prime on one side and race-car inspired Bumblebee and Sideswipe on the other. Zellers has two pegs with their semi-translucent figures so stuffed on them that they fall off periodically. Even TRU has so many Trans-Scanning Sideswipes and Ironhides left that they either never got in or simply can't get out onto the pegs the later wave. I think the people in charge of buying these things for stores and the guys at Hasbro need an intervention. With all this crap clogging shelves we're never going to get anything new. It's DOTM Exclusive overkill, and it's only going to hurt business in the end.

Comes complete with the severed heads of Decepticons...and even a few Autobots that he didn't like.

I looked at this the last time I was in Walmart and thought...WTF another repaint.

Then after inspection I thought want a nice repaint. I may get this and return the other POS exclusive. Both are POS's but if I'm stuck with one I might as well have the one with the nicest paint.

Why not wait until they release the version with the trailer? It's already been announced.

I'm planning on getting that one and attaching the trailer to my Classics Deluxe Optimus.

Cause I made an impulse buy on the first one. I can't return it but I can buy Lunar Fire and use that receipt to return the first POS.

Or yes I'd do just as you said.
