Must have Beast Wars figures?

Ive started up a healthy BW figures collection, have most of the show cast already, but what non-show figures are must haves. Im thinking about figures with great molds, articulation and transformations.

(Opps, can a mod correct my title to must have)?

Let's focus on non show characters to avoid the obvious. Razorbeast, Polarclaw, B'boom just to name a few.

I suggest getting Big Convoy. Also just as an FYI: i've been told there's little difference between the Japanese and the Korean except for minor paint apps.

I like Inferno mainly for his character, but his toy is decent too, and I like it.

I love Rampage, and would definitely recommend him. He is a massive crab-tank, with a gattling missile launcher, what's not to like?

I don't have too many beast wars figures, so I wouldn't recommend anything else really. Maybe Scroponok. As an FYI, his bee missile has difficulty staying on, even right out of the box when he was new, so don't sweat it if you notice that issue.

This'll come down to preference, but out of the non show characters, the bat optimus/alligator megatron have always been 2 of my favorites.

Other than him, Snapper's nice, but everything else I have is from the show. I've also liked Armadillo from the flipformers, but never managed to get it.


... however with that being said (mostly to others who don't have the show cast already hehe), transmetal Tarantulas, Cheetor & Rattrap are very nice, Depth Charge & Rampage are both very much more than just big dudes, Dinobot's easily one of my favorites, Quickstrike is pretty much the best basic, and the transmetal Blackarachnia is great if you like spiders. The transmetal Optimus & Megatron have always seemed like the best versions of those guys for the sake of show love, but the older Ultra class ones are nice too (Megs especially in my opinion).

Well, we could discus which versions of show characters to pick up.

Personally, Takara's BWR version of Optimus Primal and Megatron (the Beasties series, not Beast Machines) box set seem to be the best representations of their characters.

They're very similar to the TRU release of around the same time, but they lack some of the problems (or so I'm told).

Plus, the set contains a neat CD-Rom containing stuff.


If you're going for TM Megatron, beware the GPS problem. It might be a better idea to retrofit an Armada Predacon figure with Megatron's good bits. That, or get the one version that maintains structural integrity, I think it was the Thailand one, but I'm likely wrong.

For me to pick one I would say the original Megatron (Purple T-Rex) Love that one. And the Optimus Primal to go with him (Black Ape) guess that's two =)

I think Lio Convoy from Beast Wars II is a cool figure to pick up.

To name a few and some of the best.
