Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
I have a feeling this will be better than expected...the way spidey moves is looking very well done, and it has a Chris Nolan feel. Does anyone know if Uncle Ben is still going to be dying...I got the impression from the trailer that they weren't going to cover that here...

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Looking really good IMHO.
Not too keen on the costume, but I can look past that.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Peter is just too much of a jerk and self-confident, the way he interacts with Mary Jane and others...he's supposed to be a shy nerdy loner...who only find his footings as time goes on...
isn't he?

Peter is supposed to be shy and nerdy.
I've always thought Spiderman was supposed to be the smart-ass confident one.
Peter gains confidence when he becomes Spiderman.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Should have been Spider-Man 4, no need to reboot a franchise that's so recent.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Not happy with the selection of actors (especially Garfield as Parker); however, I will still go to watch this.
Don't have high expectations since the first 3 movies were done really well IMHO (yes, even the third movie wasn't bad if you could only edit out anything to do with Venom, lol...).

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Looks alright, but I'll be filing this under "Uneccessary Reboots" alongside "Superman Returns" and the forthcoming "Superman: The Man Of Steel". Although I'm prepared to eat my words if this turns out to be another "Batman Begins" or "Casino Royale". Either way I'll wait till it comes to my local library to rent for free.
As for Emma Stone as a blonde...I know that's closer to her natural hair color but I'm more partial to her burnt sienna look, the same way Jim Carey is (but not in such a creepy way).

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
I'll see it when it comes out. But I agree with the 'Unecessary Reboot' comments. Too soon, the last movie was like.. 5 years ago.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
Honestly, as a spiderman fan, this movie is very exciting for me. I loved the Raimi films, 1 and 2 like everyone else. But this movie really adds a lot to the franchise that was kind of lacking.
1) web shooters. This one isn't actually that big of a deal, but it is a symbol that they are really showing love to the source material.
2) Gwen Stacy. This is a big one for me. The Gwen Stacy saga is a HUGE part of who Peter Parker/Spider man is, and probably the biggest shame of the original franchise is the omission of this, probably due to how dark it was. This story was so influential that it literally ended the silver age of comics! In my opinion, the franchise is worth rebooting just to include her story. However, the only downside is we must revisit the green goblin again, and run the risk of repetition.
3) Drama. I know drama is often a bad word when it comes to nerdy franchises, as we just want to see ass-kicking. But the only reason I ever cared about Peter Parker in the original trilogy was because he was spider man. Maguire did a fantastic job at showing the amazement over what he could do, but again, it was all around spider man. I like the idea of finding Peter Parker interesting because of Peter Parker. It just makes it feel more complete.
4) Wise Cracking Spidey. This was honestly one of my favourite aspects of spider man. Well, actually probably web slinging. But none the less it was one of my top parts, and it went almost completely neglected before. I'm happy they are bringing this back into the Spider Man persona.
Overall, from the trailer, I am very excited about how this movie looks. The only thing I might be more excited about is the video game, because guys, this could be it! This could be the video game to beat spider man 2! I feel it in my bones!
