~*Golf Clap*~ for Toys R Us!

Time for a different kind of thread... one based on appreciation for TRU

I just wanted to say with all the crap people give TRU they have handled Soundwave, Acid Storm, and Metroplex A-OK in my books.

Many people believed this would be the MP-10 scenario once again... FAR FROM IT!

People are receiving their pre-orders... they refunded funds I had been promised... WITHOUT NEEDING TO FOLLOW UP!

WOOOW! Great job TRU!

They have more work to do on their site, all in time...

I understand some collectors cannot place orders online, whether due to a lack of Credit Card or Paypal account. Unfortunate as this is TRU provided another way for others to get what they want without the HUNT.

Totally agree. TRU was absolutely great with me. I never followed up as I didn't care if I got the MP Soundwave, Acidstorm, or Metroplex. But getting everything with no hassle has been great (got Soundwave today, Acidstorm yesterday, and Metroplex soon).

I'll have to agree with you (though I 'll admit my appreciation is skewed by the fact that I have an MP SW in-hand). TRU seems to have improved their stock and distribution this time around which could mean everyone who missed out on MP OP might have a shot at obtaining him if the reissue rumours are true.

I actually cancelled my Metroplex and TRU in store gave me Metroplex at the 25% off pricetag once I showed them my pre-order was back-ordered.
SW is stuck with Purolator.

Re: ~*Golf Clap*~ for Toys R Us!

My wife just went to grab a Metroplex at TRU that shows in stock. There are none to be found which means that they are being hoarded by employees.

The best thing about TRU is that you can make friends with the full time "Boy's Toys" worker and they will eventually start being your person on the inside.

Unfortunately the back door deals will happen.

Especially when part timers are involved... I'm not saying all will do so just to be clear.

Absolutely, I do not retract what i've said.

I'm just saying no matter the retail outlet the "back door deals" will occur and is very tough to be avoided.

Re: ~*Golf Clap*~ for Toys R Us!

I appreciate TRU. Their staff has way more knowledge that Walmart staff. They will actually check the back room for you and their system. They honour price adjustments even past the date knowing the whole "well I can return it and rebuy it" thingy. (so they save you that hassle)

They usually get everything in stock even if it is just one case (end of a series syndrome)

I have a lot of great things to say about TRU. I vowed long ago that I would never grow up and that I would be a Toys R Us kid.....and I still am.

Re: ~*Golf Clap*~ for Toys R Us!

I'm glad they're improving, to be sure. I see a couple of issues:

1. There are still not toys reliably in stores. I would think this would be the priority for a chain of toy stores.

2. Since they had so many problems with pre-orders on MP-10, a lot of fools like me didn't place a pre-order. So I'm left with sour grapes regret (no MP Soundwave) and wondering how many others were like me. If there were less pre-orders (conjecture on my part,) they should have handled it better than last time. So did they improve or was it less orders?

I'm on board with being thankful for TRU, but I can't really golf clap them when all the same problems are still observable to varying degrees. Maybe I'm being a Nancy Negative today.
