panel lined unicron

got bored waiting for paint to dry on another "secret" project so i whipped out the pens and this is the end result.all of his orange parts were lined with rustic brown, his darker grey parts lined with black and his lighter grey parts were lined with dark grey.i never actually thought there was this much detail molded into him until i finished 2 days later.he even has folds in his planet mouth when you squeeze the mandibles together.im so much more in love with this fig now

lined on the left, untouched on the right.

ive had this fig since armada and only now found out he had these details on the sides of his "inner"mouth.

Re: panel lined unicron

Nice work good sir!

BTW, Is that how the big purple plates are supposed to sit on his back? I'm to lazy to pull out the instructions, so I just stick them up as shoulder pads.

Amazing how just these lines make it look so much more three dimensional and realistic! Great job!

I agree! I liked Unicron from the get go, but I reallllly like it now with the extra detail! Where do you get the panel line pens? I've seen a few sharpies with a very fine tip, is that what you use?

the pens i use are actually called "gundam marker" and are usually available at your local hobby stores for around 4 to 5 bucks each.if its the right ones, the outer casing of the pens are always blue while the cap will indicate colors.

Re: panel lined unicron

first of all OMFG.
(which I should be used to judging by the OMFG level of your other work, but every time I see someting new from you bro, it just gets cooler and cooler)

Can you post a pic of said "gundam marker"

Also, you got a youtube video that demonstrates the process?

unlike kitbashing and painting, this seems like something I may actually be able to do.

you said it took 2 days... exactly how many hours was that?
