Re: Collection has Hit a Brick Wall

I Decided to only keep G1 and G1esque figures like classics and animated. I had too much this and that. Here's the kicker though. I've sold so much stuff I emptied 2 huge rubbermaid containers...but it's not like you get rid of the containers because they are empty...therefore, I have not made an inch of room lol.

LOL, don't think there is much worth buying off me.

Working through each shelf one by one and sorting by mold, quality and character.

Starting with PCC, I know I'm keeping Heavytread, Bombshell, Leadfoot and Steamhammer

Just deciding between Huffer, Crankcase, Sandtrap, Searchlight, Darkstream, Sledge, Smolder, Icepick and Windburn.

any suggestions for which PCC's would best represent their line?

Additionally, I've picked up the habbit of Purging as I tend to Bing a bit each year. I personally enjoy Decepticons as I find their molds to be more intresting. So any autobot that does not meet the criteria to become modded into a decepticon I generally will sell or trade off.

Even beyond that I have had to purge off Decepticons, as I am currently trying to limit my self to Seekers, Cassetticons, Gestalts. Including FP homages.

I'm not sure about other people but it always seems to me that there is more coming in the either going out. lol

Just a thought thou. Buy a hutch. It will give you a moderatly nice display space, plus adaquate storage space for your extra figures, boxes etc. It will give you the ablity to place it in just about any room from the Living Room to Bedroom.

Re: Collection has Hit a Brick Wall

A good portion of my collection has been focused on classics, but of the shelf for autobots, there are more bots than space and this is only the RTS and Generations lines.

Have finished cataloging my collection, only 108 figures (including PCC Minicons) so to save space, I've already cut Darkstream, Doubleclutch, Sledge, Smoulder and Steelshot from PCC (Leaves Leadfoot, Heavytread, Huffer and Searchlight for bots. Crankcase, Bombshock, Steamhammer and Windburn for cons and some mini-cons have now found homes with some of my Classics figures.

Now sorting through movie stuff.

Bots
(Voyager/HA Deluxe)
Human Alliance Jazz

(Deluxe/HA Basic)
Battle Blade Bumblebee
Tomahawk
Rescue Ratchet
Long Arm
Electrostatic Jolt (didn't make the cut)
Cliffjumper (2007 movie)
HA Basic Sandstorm
HA Basic Thunderhead
HA Basic Backfire

(Scout/Commander)
Hubcap
Breacher
Firetrap
Backfire
Cyberverse Sentinel Prime
Cyberverse Optimus Prime
Cyberverse Powerglide
Cyberverse Ironhide

(Legends/Legion)
ROTF Bumblebee
ROTF Swerve
ROTF Mudflap
ROTF Ironhide
ROTF Smokescreen
Cyberverse Skids
Cyberverse Sideswipe
Cyberverse Topspin

Cons
(Voyager/HA Deluxe)
Voyager Payload

(Deluxe/HA Basic)
ROTF Barricade
ROTF Dead End
ROTF Jetblade
ROTF Thrust
ROTF Hailstorm
ROTF Tailwhip
HA Basic Icepick

(Scout/Comander)
ROTF Insecticon
ROTF Brimstone
RTS Chopsaw
ROTF Crankstart
ROTF Oilpan
Cyberverse Blackout

(Legends/Legion)
Cyberverse Barricade
Cyberverse Crankcase
ROTF Shadow Striker
ROTF Override
ROTF Runamuck
ROTF Starscream
ROTF Sparkcrusher
ROTF Long Haul
ROTF Duststorm

Any suggestions as to which of these should be displayed?

Re: Collection has Hit a Brick Wall

I have found that transformerd to vehicle/beast mode when stored helps to decrease breakage I also wrap the chromed or pieces with a lot of clear parts to avoid scrathes at one point I had build shelves on the wall from floor to ceiling and that worked well (bots displayed in robot mode also take up less room ) for a while.I try to display them in series such as G1 or G2 and in years of release such as first series second etc...with the Japanese, European,etc.. dispayed in there respective groups

Re: Collection has Hit a Brick Wall

A proper shelf is not yet in the cards. I unfortunately am limited to a single 4' x 1' x 7' bookcase and half of each shelf is currently filled by DVDs. So 5 shelves each 4x1/2. Total 10 ft.sq. with figures ranging from 1" sq. to 36" sq.

I really like Icepick and Crankcase. Sledge is cool too.
