It won't be thinner, because that would require all new tooling to do so, but cheaper plastic, definitely. There is a ton less pigment and metal flake in the mix for starters, and you can probably bank on it being a lot easier to add stress marks to like most of Hasbro's newer figures.

Oh ok. Yes, that's a bit concerning, however, I thought I read somewhere that someone placed a Takara MP-08 beside the Hasbro Grimlock at the NY Toy Show and they looked the same. Possibly lighting effect?

But brr-icy has a good point too. A lot less metal flake. I dont see the swirling effct like on mine. It almost looks like a prototype. I guess we won't know for sure until its released.

An official release date in Japan does not always mean that it will be available here, after all shipping times do vary and just because it's all over e-bay does not mean other online retailers have it available same day of release.
