MP Sunstreaker?

Not sure if this had already been spotted or if this is the right spot to post, my apologies if it is but this just caught my eye on Facebook on BBTS

If this is MP scale and, of course, more info becomes available, then GODDAMN! and FINALLY!

Supposed to be Masterpiece scale. Interesting to see they have a May release date

The project was thought to be dead but a recent post by Omnigonix over at TFW turned that around real quick.

Well aren't I a little late to the punch, lol.

In any event I think this will go on my list to get in place of Wardog .

Re: MP Sunstreaker?

I've been talking to them for a while. Things are going well (always have been despite WIS) and I'm glad they can finally list it.

My only advice to them was not to pull an MBC. Take all the time you need to get it right the first time, then put it up.

As nice as it looks the proof of build quality will be what make or break this figure for most fans.

This right here if it looks and feels good in hand then I will get it. I didn't like DX-9 Invisible, even hated the pics of it but when I had one in hand at a collectors show I just had to have it, so I hope that this is the same thing.

Re: MP Sunstreaker?

Since it looks like the time window for Takara's Lamborghini license has passed they cannot release a Sunstreaker. They would have to reapply and pay fees, possible profits on the figure. Odds are if they were going to release it, it would have been released already. Why pay licensing fees twice. It makes no sense.

Its also possible, that Lamborghini did not approve the car designs for Sunstreaker. Sunstreaker transforms into a “modified” Lamborghini Countach LP500S. Possibly, they didn't want a design that technically isn't a fully Lamborghini design. I have heard Lamborghini is funny that way these days.

The truth is no one knows for sure, but I certainly wouldn't expect Sunstreaker from Takara at this point. Because it ain't looking good. Which is why I just pre-order this guy.

Fun Fact: Sunstreaker was designed by Koujin Ohno (Takara Toys) and is credited as the first "Car to Robot Transforming Toy" ever made. It appeared first in Takara's Car Robot Series in 1982 before being used in the initial wave of Hasbro Transformers in 1984.

Re: MP Sunstreaker?

Well, I'll be waiting for Sunstreaker from Takara. He's iconic and will eventually be done, of that I have no doubt. But for those who can't wait, fill your boots. It will be worth the wait, and I've got the time for Takara to come around. Theyll find a way around the lambourgini issues, and im sure he'll sell just as well as any autobot car.
