Re: Generations Thunderwing QC issue

Hahahaha, hammer & thumb tack? Glad to hear that it didn't go horrible wrong, especially since I'm assuming it wasn't on video.

Re: Generations Thunderwing QC issue

I remove pins all the time at work (mind you, from metal) and I've come to the conclusion that there's an additional step if you go the hammer route for anything soft or brittle (like plastic).

On the opposite side you need to have support around the pin, and that support needs to have a hole. Sometimes I use a press and brace the bottom with a metal plate that's had a hole drilled into it. I go slow with the press, using one of the many punches I have at work (or if all else fails, a nail) and gradually push the pin out.

The press applies steady pressure instead of sudden pressure, and I find that it allows me to stop right away if anything goes wrong.

I also use it to put the pin back in, having the metal plate brace the other side.

Whatever you do, don't use your teeth to try and remove a pin
