G1 Sideswipe Review - cool then, cool now?
Sideswipe has been a favorite of many fans for several years. Maybe it was because he was one of the earliest characters on the original program. Or, maybe it was because his toy was just plain fun and cool looking!

I will admit, the G1 Sideswipe I got as a kid has a wicked alt-mode and a lot of die cast metal.
Robot modeā¦ still a brick-bot, like much of G1.
But the alt-mode is pretty cool!

I always wonder if the ole' brick was just engineering limits or the cost of using so much die-cast at the time, or both.

I understood that it was a complete misunderstanding of the toy safety laws. Or a good understanding of them but a poor solution to the problem.

Really? I'd never heard that before. Interesting, I'd like to know more.
