Price Check: ROTF JP Buster Optimus Prime

I'm going further into my collection and looking to purge more items, but this one has me stumped. A MISB Buster Prime seems to fluxuate wildly on eBay, and I have no idea what a fair price is to ask. Is there a general consensus on him?

The recently released Ultimate whatever version kinda killed the value of all past versions of the mold.

Re: Price Check: ROTF JP Buster Optimus Prime

Boy you're right, prices are all over the place on eBay. Tons of "from China" auctions with BIN prices of $80-$100. In completed auctions that's most of what's sold the past couple months. Other than one MISB from Japan going for $200, the 2 loose ones from the United States went for $94 and something less than $185 (best offer accepted but doesn't say how much).

Pascal makes a good point, with the superior version available now for $190 usd, it would be hard to get the same for a MISB Buster.

In your shoes, personally, I'd either start an auction on eBay at $175 cdn and hope it goes up a bit, or maybe ask $175 cdn on the forums and lower it over time if there are no takers. If you're willing to ship to the U.S. you get a bigger audience on TFW.

If you just want it to move fast, $125 maybe?

Thats actually a great analysis. I'll try posting it here at $125 later this weekend. Thanks for the input!

You got to also consider that there are KOs out there...
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...mus-prime.html

The ones from China with low prices are likely KO versions. KOs that pose as authentic are making it tough for buyers to distinguish. KO makers and sellers should just say that it is a KO, and let the buyers decide.

I'm on the hunt for a DOTF voyager Megatron and can't believe the amount of unmarked KOs out there. The other clue of whether something is a KO is when multiple sellers have a lot of stock on a figure that has been out-of-the-market for quite some time.

Sorry I just realized that I am off topic

I don't consider that off-topic at all; that's definitely a reason for the flux in prices. I wasn't even aware KO versions existed; though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
