Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
Yes it is worth it if you have MP10. I had to buy a MP10 after I bought Apollyon.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
What would be a good price and place to buy this guy?
Or would it be better to wait for the next Expo.
Cheers

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
Although he looks decent, I didn't go for Appollyon. I play with them (at least to make stopmotions). From what I heard and read, it is a cap shoot as to whether one gets a "good one" in terms if qc and quality goes downhill from there.
To me, it seems the only real improvement over MP05 is scale and (the elephant in the room) I hear V3 Optimus/Convoy coming.
Also, I think Despotron looks just as good, just different.
Quakewave is sublime I think (he will get loose too though). I wouldn't bother with reissues or remolds, but would definitely go for a Takara version.

IMO, Apollyon has better pose-ability than mp05 (official MP Megatron) as well. And even if mp05 was same height as mp10, style wise, they wouldn't look good together.
Most places have it for $160 usd. I think Apollyon is worth it.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
Scale, proportions and headsculpt are better on Apollyon imo, but I like both equally.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
I must have lucked out because I think he's a pretty good figure. The transformation is involved but actually quite logical when you get the hang of it. It nowhere near as nightmarish as MP05. Mine is pretty much free of quality control issues, just seems a bit tight at times. In general a good figure.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
Apollyon is a great figure overall, has a nice weight to it and sturdy. I haven't read much about any QC issues but mine's been great.
That said....(shameless plug) he's for sale in my sales thread.
