2016 for me; I was gone from collecting for a long time, and the 3rd wave of Combiner Wars lured me back in, just too good imo

That's the cave-at.

As I'm not a "mint" collector of the nostalgia type (and nothing wrong with that), I get just about anything, as long as it's hopefully complete or cool.

Depending on what it is, I've even got some at Value Village that are missing everything but the figure is still in fine shape and fine as is.

But aside a few that had been a bit high, I've seldom gone over a certain level of price for figures as at some point, it's a hobby and it's still just plastic figures.

There's only been a few that I paid the "late tax" for as they were "essential" to my collection, but I kept that number very low as some just get ridiculous. I'll skip and just await that luck happens and I find it at a reasonable price or figure that they'll make a new version, which will other be good and I'll get it instead, OR cause some to get the new one and sell the old one at a fair price.

It's all about selection and even existence. Some years brought great figures, but the same can be said about almost every year, every wave/line. Even the worst years still had a few good toys. And in "today's" world, I can decide which toy from the past I want, compared to newer ones, etc.

Re: Favourite year for transformers

Gotta go with 2006-2007.
You had the late-wave Alternators, then Classics getting going and then a hot jump into movie money.
Moving Transformers from a random kids show into billion-dollar territory established it for years to come, and the toys along with it.
