10 Digit Dialing??

Anyone else having trouble with this today? How many other fellow Albertans were not prepared for the change.

I cannot count how many times today I have forgotten to dial the area code for local calls.

Damn changes!

Re: 10 Digit Dialing??

hasn't been an issue for me yet today and I have made plently of phone calls only using the old-school way.

I thought I would get the reminder...

We've had this in Southern Ontario for a long time. It was odd in the beginning, but you'll get used to it

Ya, we switched to this a few years back in BC (at least the lower mainland/Vancouver area). It was a little odd at first but now it's just 2nd nature.

The actual switch isn't until September. But if you don't do it now, they will annoy you every time you make a call XD

Luckily all my cellphone contacts have the area code already.

Re: 10 Digit Dialing??

I don't know if this still happens but when I dial in a number without the area code it just tells me to do so next time and they put me through. so having that annoying message may help you get used to it.

it can also be frustrating at times because there are so many numbers i need to keep track of i type in the wrong area code or i am not sure which area code it is. 416, 647, 905 and etc...

Re: 10 Digit Dialing??

I think there are only certain networks that remind you. I know I get the message when I call out on my cell phone, but nothing if I call from my work phone.

Plus I had heard someone else talking about something like this.
