Or, buy the repaints or Takara/Hasbro will move on to something else because it is not worth it to them otherwise.

Edit: and it looks cool.

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

Apparently it's based on this

http://www.tf-1.com/articles/pretf_f...art=joustralan

I would totally get it for the car mode. Too bad Takara isn't likely to put the Marlboro name on the car due to many countries banning tobacco ad. But it's so awesome though.

Nice little backstory. Thanks. He will be mine

I look at it from a different point of view. I have no issue supporting repaints because it justifies Takara's mould investment and there is more hope for future "single use" moulds like Sunstreaker, Jazz, Hound and Mirage, etc. This has been stated by Kobayashi and Hasui in interviews already on a few occasions. Support Takara and they will deliver new moulds.

Oh Darth, you're such a great resource here. OK that looks better than WJ . Why shouldn't I get this again? Btw re: Marlboro tags, that's what Reprolabels is for

Don't you mean Marl Boor? Take a closer look at the front of the toy.

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

I think it's cool, a nice nod to and obscure diaclone figure that only the really hardcore will go for. It will make a nice convention or club exclusive... wait... what's that? It's a regular release? Ah...hahahahaha... no, that's not going to work out very well at all.

And what? This is exactly what people wanted when they announced Wheeljack. Obviously they cannot name him Marlboro Wheeljack so they took a liberty.

I think the best thing about this figure would be the stubby twin shoulder cannons over the head.

This could also be mislabeled as MP 23 and could very well be 20B or 20D (whichever designation they feel fit)

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

I think "Exhaust" is a very sneaky and appropriate little name.

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

I don't think I'll be picking this up. It's a weird one to be a mainstream release, but what else could it be? To my knowledge, Wheeljack was never repainted to another G1 character (at least, not in the cartoon).

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

Question: Now we know the background history, How many of you will buy it?
Myself, I'm seriously considering. At one hand I like the color, but at the other hand, there are so many good stuffs even besides the MP line, and I need to save money for those dinobots...

Re: Takara MP-23 Exhaust Revealed

I'm gonna pass. Star saber as well. They really do not interest me at all. I'd really like to see Jazz.

Shouldn't Exhaust be MP-20E or something like that?
