TFSource Shipping rates increased?

For all those that use TFSource, have you seen an increase in shipping rates?

I have always stuck with TFSource over BBTS (for american orders) because, although shipping is the same, I don't get hit with customs. However, I went to place a preorder for the Springer/Blitzwing combo and shipping was around $30. WTF?. Shipping has always been around 15-17 for a similar sized package.

I emailed them and the response I got was that USPS rates have increased for international packages. By double??? Whatever....

I went ahead and ordered though BBTS, fingers crossed about avoiding a customs hit.

Yeah, I ran into the TFsource increase too.

USPS does mention the increase here, but it's strange that BBTS shipping costs are not affected.

Ya, I've noticed that too when I order the FP Chromedome a few weeks ago. I'm still going to avoid BBTS because of customs, but it's time I give Automaton and other Canadian retailers a try and not just default to TFSource right away from now on.

Re: TFSource Shipping rates increased?

There was a huge jump on shipping prices for USPS on Jan.27,2013. It takes like 1.3 to 1.5 times the price now to ship something to Canada from USA than before. I am gonna try avoid shipping stuff from USA to Canada from now on.

So shipping rate within the States doesn't affect by this right?

Only affects international shipping.

I'd like to go CDN for my purchases, but the Springer/Blitz order was 45. Whereas Automaton was 35 each.

So BBTS, 61 Shipped, take chance on customs.
Automaton 80 Shipped.
Gambling to save money, if I lose out, I should still come out on top.

Well, if it doesn't make a big difference after all that custom fees and trouble. It is better to get from Automaton for those who doesn't have a US contact, not only because Automaton is a Canadian Retail, because Mario is a nice guy too Not here to suck up or anything. I am sure Automaton doesnt' make much profit either due to the shipping increase.

There was a bit of a jump / change of services at Canada Post around that time as well, for shipping to the States. So it's getting more expensive all around. Makes it a bit tougher to do sales & trades with American collectors.

Re: TFSource Shipping rates increased?

I noticed the other day that they've removed the USPS First Class option which was their cheapest method. Shipping isn't as bad on larger orders though as it evens out a lot better.
