This is the purpose of exclusives.

How many times did I do that? None, because after a while of not finding the exclusive I wanted, I gave up re-visiting the stores a bunch of times and resigned myself to maybe getting it online. And by now I've seen the same wall of identical wave 1 Legacy stuff in stores since they first rolled out. I have yet to see Skids or Dragstrip in a Walmart. a dozen Bulkheads and now a pretty regular pair of Galvatrons sure, but they can't even seem to get the entirety of wave 1 in stock with anything approaching regularity. So there's nothing in the stores for me to buy most of the time when I'm looking for exclusives unless it's something else that I didn't have that I would've visited the store to get without the lure of the exclusive to begin with.
With respect, I'm not dumb. I know what the point of exclusives are. But if you're going to get people into the store via having them, you have to, y'know,
actually have them with at least some degree of regularity/expectation. If I believe there's a decent chance in any given week that I can pop into a Walmart and find one of the exclusives, I'm going to check it out. But if I know that over the last 3 years or so I saw retro Headmasters maybe once, assorted non-deluxe (non-Bumblebee/Elita) Netflix bots maybe a handful of times aside from the shelfwarmers, and assorted other exclusives pretty much never then what's my motivation for visiting the stores? And how am I supposed to not get frustrated trying to get it off their website if stock shows up randomly for maybe half an hour before the info spreads and the horde of ravenous buyers and the subset of potential scalpers show up and clean them out?
