Dumb question: MP Ironhide?
Is it just me or does anybody wonder when (or if) we'll ever see an official MP Ironhide? He's gotta be #2 in terms of iconic (next to Bumblebee) for fans of the G1 cartoon.
He would be a must buy for me, but then I think...his alt mode would be pretty damn boring! That red van...lol. At least then we'd get a nice Ratchet repaint at some point!
I'm by far not any kind of expert on MP releases, but can anybody shed some light on why I haven't heard about an MP Ironhide?
...at least we got Bumblebee and Wheeljack, though. Perhaps next year for Ironhide?

Ironhide's G1 van mode is a Nissan vehicle. So maybe since they already got Nissan on board, Takara's been focusing on other vehicles for now. But Ironhide should be someone we should see done within the next years, at the rate their going. And Ratchet will probably be the release after him.

Hasui recently stated he's really interested in designing an MP Ironhide and v2 Megatron. Whether that means Takara will do it is another thing. Not in 2015 at least. But yah, I bet it will happen. Lots of potential for repaints.

I'm satisfied enough with the iGear version that I would prefer that Takara develops other MP characters that are more of a 'priority' to me; ie. Jazz, Tracks, Trailbreaker, Megatron ver.2, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, etc.

I agree with Megs v2, and Jazz (to some degree, I put him in Wheeljack category)...but good ol' Ironhide is Prime's go to guy  He definitely needs to be done soon.
I think that the Nissan van is what's holding them back...although I'm not sure why, as we know that van won't impress a 10 year kid (who isn't the target MP market anyways) any more than a walkman tape deck would (but Soundwave's bot form is timeless).
I could be wrong, but it's hard to make that van more visually exciting. I'd sure be exited, though.

I just hope that they apply the lessons learned from MP-9. Give us their mobile platforms, a height changing gimmick so Ironhide can stand taller than Ratchet, and a face behind the windshield mode(optional but very awesome if included) like the original toys and their appearance in Megatron Origin. But with less shit breaking and falling off.

I'd prefer cartoon accuracy to toy accuracy. Ironhide (and Ratchet) 3/4 the height of Prime. Don't even need the mobile platforms.
