Cybertron.ca's Transformers Q&A Answers for August 2009 from Hasbro

1) Why is Canadian shipping from Hasbro Toy Shop so expensive?
The extra shipping charges reflect charges Hasbro incurs from freight fees as well as a consolidator to ship to Canada. The additional fees for Canadian shipments include all duties and taxes, so the consumer pays nothing extra at time of delivery. While many other comparable sites do not charge these upfront fees, these fees are still due upon delivery of the item where the consumer must pay for them on delivery. We have tried to make this process as easy and convenient for our consumers as possible.

2) Will Masterpiece Skywarp and or the last Animated figures (Arcee, Rodimus) be released in Canada? If so will they be exclusives to a particular retailer?
Specifically to the Canadian market, Masterpiece Skywarp will be available at Walmart this fall.
As for the remaining Animated figures, similar to the U.S. market, we have full intentions of releasing these figures at some point in time. However, we are unsure yet if these will be mainline or exclusive items and their exact shipping date.

3) When will the Universe Classics line return?
As we have mentioned in this forum previously, the Universe line ended once the Revenge of the Fallen product line hit shelves on May 30th. Therefore there will be no new development for this line moving forward. However, the design intentions behind the Universe line, such as reimagining our heritage characters, will continue in some form or fashion
in the future.

I for one didn't realize that Canadian shipments include all duties and taxes from HTS, that's good to know.

First of all thanks Hasbro for giving some good answers this time around. Good to have all the hoopla around HTS settled, makes sense considering you would definitely be paying taxes importing from HTS otherwise. Would still pass up on ordering from them though, $25+ is still a lot of money and I would rather wait and pick up Hasbro stuff at retail anyways.

Also good news about MP Skywarp coming to Canada, have the Takara one myself and it's definitely worth picking up

Too bad there will be no further development in the Universe Classics line, it was such a great series. I can't wait to get my hands on SkyWarp and Rodimus!

I'm surprised question 3 wasn't about Alternators.

Answer #3
Walmart Exclusive Repaints Powerglide, Hardhead, Bruticus' are not a continuation of the line...?

OK... Mainline and Exclusives are different, I guess.

I didn't realize HTS had control over Canada Customs.

I'll believe it when people regularly order from them and don't get hit up for duties.

How much do you think Skywarp will go for? Also... they seriously need to get the Alternators line going again... who's brilliant idea was it to end it?
