Now that I see the hi-res colour pics, I do want him more.
Noticeable changes:
Hip kibbles gone.
New wings to accommodate where hip kibbles were.
New feet and additional heels.
Null ray guns can now fold from arm and attached to underside of wings, instead of "remove and reattach".
Colour is G1 cartoon accurate.
New head with new facial expression.
The cape looks like it was stolen from Bandai's new Saint Seiya Cloth Myth EX line....

I think this is the fastest turnaround for a news item I've ever seen. From rumor to prototype to fully painted figure within 24 hours.
Looks better in color. More anime-ish, in line with MP-10. Totally not worth it though. Especially since we know Hasbro will probably release this States side anyway, like the original.

i wonder if they had something in mind for the MP line before this but after everyone fell in love with igears seekers they said "aww HELL NAW thats OUR SEEKER MONEY" and made these instead.

I was not terribly impressed by the prototype pics, and considered MP-11 an easy pass. Seeing it in color, with the proper grey and a nice blue... I may have to get this.

Wait, so I'm unclear as to if this is an all new mold or simply changes to the existing one. Is it a different size than the current masterpieces?

It's just a remould. We don't know yet if it's the same size, or not. However, this remould takes many design aspects from the original Prototype and makes them reality. The BIGGEST change from the original MP SS prototype, and this toy, is the added, and very much needed, heels. There are a few other changes, I won't name everything that I see but when you put him side by side with the original MP SS, you'll see. If you buy this one of course
