What would you do with a HTF item that you already have?

I am curious what the masses would do if they found a Hard To Find item that they already have in thier collection?

1) Buy it and sell it on Ebay for profits!
2) Buy it and keep it in their collection, such as one MISB and the other open for display.
3) Buy it and put it up for sale/trade in a forum.
4) Mention it in a forum allowing everyone a chance to get it, including the general public.
5) Hide it and mention it in a forum giving members a chance to get it.
6) Nothing, let nature take it's course.

So tell me, what would Jesus do... um I mean what would you do?

You forgot #7: Put it in the blender!!! "
But seriously, I would imagine many would pick it up for resale or trade in the future. I'd pick it up but I wouldn't have more than one extra and then I'd try to sell/trade at the local toyshow/convention.

Re: What would you do with a HTF item that you already have?

Buy it and offer it at cost to someone you know who is not a scalper and who'll appreciate it to it's real value.

At least that's what I do, I have a friend that I sold Masterpiece Optimus (39.99$ ), Camshaft, Classic Jetfire etc all at cost, and he damn well appreciated all that !

So I'd add a #7 : Sell it at cost to someone you know

If its a figure I know my collector friends want I'll pick it up for them, otherwise I leave it and let the figure go its own way.

If it is something everyone is after, I would buy it (only to take it out of the scalper's hands) and offer it up to the people who would appreciate it. If nothing comes of that then either return it to where I found it or chuck it up on the Bay.

That sounds like a another good choice I didn't think of. In reality most of my friends don't collect toys/figures so it never really crossed my mind, the closest match I can think of is choice#3.
